The Morton West Band Program offers a diverse and dynamic musical experience for students, fostering both individual growth and collective achievement. With opportunities for students of all skill levels, the program is designed to help young musicians develop their technical abilities, creativity, and teamwork, all while becoming active contributors to the school community.

At the heart of our program is the Wind Ensemble, our flagship ensemble composed of advanced musicians who perform a wide range of challenging repertoire, from classic wind band literature to contemporary compositions. Alongside the Wind Ensemble, the Concert Band provides a welcoming space for students with previous middle school band experience to continue building their musical skills, focusing on the fundamentals of music and ensemble playing. The Percussion Ensemble plays a crucial role in both concert and marching settings, performing specialized percussion literature while also serving as the drum line for the Marching Band. During the fall, the Mustang Marching Band performs at all home football games, local parades, and community events, bringing school spirit and pride to life with exciting field shows and high-energy performances.

In addition to our concert and marching ensembles, the Basketball Band provides musical support and energy at home basketball games, adding to the excitement of the school’s athletic events and helping to create a lively atmosphere for both fans and players. Beyond the classroom and performance spaces, the band program is committed to community involvement and outreach, regularly participating in local parades, school events, and volunteer performances that bring the joy of music to the greater community.
