Joining the band at Morton West is open to any student with previous band experience, whether from middle school or private lessons. Band is a part of the school day, meaning students will attend rehearsals during their regular class schedule.

Participation in the program offers a PE waiver, providing an alternative to traditional physical education. Students are expected to commit to the full band experience, which includes attending all rehearsals, concerts, outside performances, and community events. Being part of the band not only helps students develop their musical skills but also allows them to become an integral part of the school community, representing the school at athletic events, parades, and more. It’s an exciting opportunity for students to grow as musicians and be part of a dynamic, spirited team.
